Sorry Doddler, linking to your band. >_>;
Can we has sample hair from female Arch Bishop? That be smexy.
Oh, why must higher priestess classes all get short skirts? Is that sexy technique really needed for the monsters? =|
Edit: Apparently those are WIP designs and doesn't represent the final version. Go to one of those official forums! Voice your opinion on the sprites! Grav may just take into your consideration and change them for final release!

Answer each question in exactly THREE words...sounds easy..but its harder than you think!!
Where is your cell phone? Failing at life
Your boyfriend/girlfriend husband/wife? Not so uncomplicated
Your hair? In a ponytail
( the rest )
So yeah. My phone actually is failing at life. As in, it's decided that a fun activity would be to randomly turn my display inside-out and upside-down. I'm going to try to get it fixed tomorrow; otherwise, if I am randomly out of contact, don't take it personally, it's probably technical difficulties.
Or it might be me being grumpy. I've been pretty grumpy the past few days. Almost everyone is annoying me. I'm going to listen to this song over and over (so emo! so <333!) and send people bumper stickers on Facebook until I feel less like trying out the pencil trick. On myself or on others, I'm not sure yet.
I am very much looking forward to next week, though.Current Mood: frustrated Current Music: The Reign of Kindo - The Moments In Between

okay lol LJ left me two KRK icons (the one with Tendou and the blowdryer and one of the two Kagami/Tendou ones, I think the one with the "we used to be friends" quote), the default one of the rubber ducky, the GOD MADE YOU SPECIAL icon, my dog with a can of beer and .... the one with Watanuki and Doumeki on a pink pony. ._.
I was going to get an envelope for the Jun uchiwa that I'm sending to Becky (MEIMI YOU NEVER TOLD ME HOW MUCH TO PAYPAL) and I was in the comic store and I was just like, Even I don't have the face to march down one end of UO University District to the other carrying a huge, shocking rose pink fan with Jun Matsumoto's face on it, I just can't do it. Not even to measure it for an envelope! Limits, even nerds have them. Mom however agrees that his lipstick is fabulous and she would buy it. OMG the pencil pouch--! it does fit a sock, I am full of glee.

Mt. Williamson (from Islip Saddle)
 Sometimes we all need to step out of our usual stomping grounds and try something different. Even though this particular hike isn't remarkably far away from the Buckhorn/Waterman area, it was appreciably different, especially after 3 days of no exercise whatsoever. With memories of Waterman and Strawberry Peak somewhat fresh in my mind, this uphill peak grab was quite short and enjoyable (and only somewhat enjoyable due to its short duration!).

There's another group subbing Gintama. They just released episode 67.
sMi subs
I think their work should be quite decent. Even though I haven't watched their episode yet.
Dunno if Rumbel will end up working a joint with them or if there will be two Gintama fansubbing groups working on Gintama from now on. But in any case, I don't see it as a bad thing. And I'll still stick with Rumbel as their tlc, anyway.
I just wish I can do some proper tlc when I want to. Not having a functioning laptop is like this huge handicap hanging over my head. Augh. *waits for August's PC fair* >_<
Ah. Question for people: Does anyone know if Toshiba allows people to buy their laptop with Windows XP installed instead of Vista? >___>;;;; Because I have a feeling I'll have to get Vista.
And does anyone have any other brand names to recommend that would have laptops near the price/quality range of Toshiba? I don't think I'll be looking at Dell laptops at all. Sony?
------ Seriously, my biggest fail this week is the fact that I forgot to bring any novels to read at my aunt's house. watching Tokko. It's... not a very memorable anime. I'm seriously only watching it for about three characters and their seiyuu right now. orzCurrent Mood: bored

FROM THIS POINT ON, DON'T SHOW ME ANY MORE NEW GAMES.</cap>
I'm really really really poor right now. ;_;
Haven't brought miniatures in a month or two already. Haven't brought any books is MONTHS. (Last time I recorded of me buying books, it was back in Feburary.) Haven't been buying CDs to my favorite artists.
↑Backlog to all those. 'Cept maybe the miniatures 'cause nothing they released in a while interests me. (Re-ment's focusing on releasing Disney-related ones and clothings lately. Do not want. = = )
THEN I HAS THOSE EVIL GAMES. THE EVIL EVIL GAMES THAT COSTS A FORTUNE TO BUY. Damn you, limited editions and pre-orders.
SO YES, DON'T TEMPT ME WITH MORE GAMES. ;___________________;

Seiyuu Animedia really doesn't appeal to me all the time. >_> I'm giving up on the August issue. Nothing too interesting on there to warrant getting the whole magazine.
Maybe I should just stick to Voice New Type. I'm still not brave enough to request to be subscribed to Voice New Type. But... maybe after a few more magazines. I'll succumb. =_=;
And now my decision making shall fall to whether I should go to Kino today.

OKAY NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE A SUCKY YEAR, IT IS NOT ALLOWED ANY MORE. I command it! by the power of my will! *glowers around f-list*
Meimi, package came! :D :D :D It actually came Wednesday but the mailman was late that day and Mom was in Eugene and was too late to pick it up yesterday, so I got it today.
I keep having really vivid dreams -- like night before last I dreamed about a sentai team that apparently was associated with some sort of factory -- like they were laborers or something and had to defeat Teh Evil, and then there was a lot of business with the horrible icky ground of the factory and an apartment building that looked right into the main yard, which then morphed into 'I have to fit at least twelve people, with all associated baggage and about fifteen dressers plus seven or eight bookcases completely filled with books into the upstairs of the old farmhouse, which fortunately is slightly bigger than the actual farmhouse was'. I had somehow managed to cram three beds for the guys into a room smaller than my bedroom and had converted the open area beside it into a living area, but I hadn't started the girls' area yet, since they had the larger room where my sisters and I slept the summer we spent there, plus the attic. And then we found a smaller walk-in area for a closet for the guys. o/ I have no idea what the downstairs looked like because I was surrounded by boxes and dressers and puzzling out how to fit everything.
And then last night I think I was in/was watching a Rilla of Ingleside movie, which of course was primarily Walter and Una and included for no apparent reason the appearance of Anne's Dead Baby as an adult spirit. Whacking sense into her younger brother. That part was freaking awesome. I think there were makeouts, or at least kissyface! I kind of think it was because I was talking to Kate about her wanting to read Anne's House of Dreams but not wanting to because it wasn't fall and therefore not time for The Annual Reread.
...as I was saying to Amy, dreams like that don't even make it on my list of side effects, because it always happens. Tonight, I am hoping for a Kabuto dream! o/
Went to work, went to the partyish thing afterward, went to Emerald City and had a soothing discussion with Stu over why it was stupid that they would let you take a plastic needle on a plane but not a metal one. Dude, a Bryson 29" needle would make a very effective garrote! Plus the tips are pointed and sturdy enough that I for one would object strongly to being poked in the eye with it. But yanocchi is going to Comic Con, and they won't allow her a metal needle on the plane, so I offered to lend her a plastic one. I hope it works all right, I haven't used a plastic needle with the yarn she's using before. Must remember to bring in cone of cobweb yarn to show her, since we were talking about it. Must remember NOT to go to Soft Horizons tomorrow as apparently bitches have got in Noro Silk Garden sock yarn and I kind of want it like a burning fire in my heart and yet cannot justify it. So better not to be tempted in the first place.

I just got back from seeing The Dark Knight.
EPIC.
Heath Ledger was phenomenal. I wasn't convinced, although the trailers were impressive-- personally I like the Joker creepy yet gimmicky, and wasn't sure that a more realistic portrayal would work for me. I shouldn't have doubted for a moment. Ledger's Joker was dark and brutal and crazy and funny and terrifying, and every time he was on screen the audience barely breathed. Just a spectacular, amazing performance. It's truly heartbreaking that he'll never grace our screens again, as this or any other character. Hats off to you, sir. RIP.
Everything else is great too, though understandably overshadowed a bit. It's an extremely long film, and you'll notice, but the pacing is relentless and the length is necessary to address all the themes and plots and arcs that needed to happen. It's a very deep, very dark, very good movie. Best superhero film evar? Might very well be. Better than Begins, and this is coming from someone who wants to have massive amounts of sex with Cillian-Murphy-as-Jonathan-Crane. So yeah.
(Oh, and in the interest of keeping this post spoiler-free I'll be vague, but a certain early scene made me very, very happy. Christopher Nolan could not have been nicer to me if he'd come over and personally baked me cookies. <33333)
I'll see it again if anyone's interested! Repeatedly! :DCurrent Mood: impressed

Offline Post: July 17, 10pm
I think both my parents probably have shortened life spans from worry now. ._.;;
Yesterday (Wednesday), as we were leaving the office, I started getting sicker and sicker and by the time we were out for dinner, I lost my appetite and my fever came back. (what the hell? How do fever spring out like that? DX) So it's off to the doctor I go. Again. This time my sister saw the doctor too. He was worried I might have dengue (even though my fever actually went away by the second day the first time around and only came back yesterday), so I got a blood test as a precaution. (I'm in the clear. No dengue. haha.) So I got home, feverish. Took meds, lounged in bed for a while and then went to bed.
Next day, I got up. I realize my sister didn't go to work. I think it was a virus at work here. She fell sick and got a fever last night. >_>; (what the hell. My fever went to her????) So uhm. today it was my turn to be caretaker.
Hopefully, now that we have stronger medicine and antibiotics with us, we'll stop falling sick. >_>;;; The both of us have been with any combination of cough, sore throat, flu, and occasional fever for the past two weeks. (maybe longer, for my sister.) Sheeesh.
In any case, my parents were probably worried sick. My aunt was just convincing us to go stay at her house till the weekend just now. XD;;; Ahaha..... We talked her out of making us go stay there RIGHT NOW THIS INSTANT. >_>;; So we'll be going tomorrow, after work. Maybe. Depending on my sister. It is not fun being sick. =_=;
But! The good news is. The both of us have recovered now. Haha. XD ------------------------------
Other happenings: (what is with all the happenings?) I was cooking dinner today. Just rice and vege and egg+beans. So, I was gonna fry three eggs. First two broke fine. Then when I cracked the third one... Boy I should've stopped when it was proving troublesome to be cracked... I mean, this is probably the first time I encountered a proper rotten egg. God. I thought I was gonna be sick. What was worse was that the dark-colored uncooked egg white squirted out and got on my shirt and shorts and auuugh. And there the BLACK egg yolk sat in the middle of the pan and frying and auuuugh
I really thought I was gonna be sick _again_. God, the smell of it. >____< Hell the smell was still there in the kitchen even though I've been swiping at it with soap and what not. Auuuugh.
anyway, it was cleaned up. We ended up still having eggs+beans for dinner. But good grief. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER.
At least now I know the signs to look out for for rotten eggs. When you crack it and the membrane is tougher to break than usual. Stop. Seriously, stop. (I wish someone told me that. Auuugh)
When I was attempting a second round of egg frying, I found out there was another rotten egg in the mix. ._.;; But this time I didn't have to crack the membrane to find out. God, if some of the egg white had gotten on my face, I think I would have hurled right then and there. >_<
Oh, another lesson learned: If the thought of 'there might be a rotten egg' flashed through your mind when you were picking out the eggs, listen to it. It's premonition at work and it usually turns out to be true when you disregard it. ><
-------------------------------
Other: Was semi-productive today. Went out to do some shopping cause we're short on some stuff at home. >_> I performed another embarassing act of not having enough money in the middle of a purchase at the cashier. That was bloody embarassing. I made a run to the ATM to come back to pay. At least they believed I was gonna come back. ^_^;;;;
Animanga: I've opened an account at a manga store nearby. So I can start renting the translated-to-chinese BL manga they have there. (and stop buying. orz) They have quite a decent collection. Zetsuai, Bronze, Haru wo Daite Ita, Love Mode, etc. I wonder what the lady at the shop thinks. The first time I start an account, I rent 5 BL. Second time I come back, I still go for the BL. =P I haven't encountered anyone who rents from the BL section yet so far. >_> Wouldn't mind making another BL fan friend. Ke ke ke. I shall look forward to it. I encountered another series drawn by Mizushiro Setona in the shop. Just rented it today and I just finished reading it. It was gorgeous. XD I am seriously in love with Mizushiro Setona works. (and why the hell isn't After School Nightmare vol 10 out in chinese yet? Give it to me, you bastards? Or I bite you!) Do they have Mizushiro Setona works scanlated in english? Seriously, if they don't, I might start considering doing a translation project on them. Since I think, the only stuff of hers that are licensed so far is After School Nightmare and that series is not really BL. Most of her BL stuff in Japan are out of production too. >_>;
Previous week's rented manga: Haru wo Daite ita vol 1 and 2 - by Youka Nitta Yellow vol 1 and 2 - ... I forgot the mangaka's name. Oops. Random one-shot BL I forgot the name of already. XD;
This week's rented manga: 1999 July in Shanghai vol 1 - 4 (complete) - by Mizushiro Setona <--- *thumbs up* XD Missing Road - by Sakuragi Shushushu <--- The serious caught me off guard. It was a strange Science Fiction piece.
I bought some anime. I have not bought anime for a while. Bought anime: - Tokko (Seriously, I started craving for this anime since I came across vol 1 of the manga at this second hand book store in Amcorp Mall a few weeks ago. And I was actually hunting for it about a week ago but came up empty. Yet, when I'm not looking for it, I come across it. So I gave in and bought it. So far so good. XD Suzumura voicing the main character is a plus. And Orikasa Fumiko. Mm. I know the story ends with lots of unanswered questions but I think I can take it. >.>) - Mushishi (.... just because I've never watched and I heard it was good.) - Mononoke (The... Ayakashi series I think. the one with the medicine seller. I wasn't sure if I should've bought it. I heard it was good but I didn't know if this dvd is the full thing. I know I should have checked and all but meh. >_> It's RM10 for a original-enough dvd with 13 episodes so it wasn't such a bad deal.)
I think I was just in a shopping mood when I was out just now. *sweat*
But I did get stuff done. Paid the bills and the like. XD
----- Now that sick leave holiday is over. It's back to the office tomorrow. Yar!Current Mood: awake

Durian and Starshine
|

|
|---|
|
Saying I haven't posted in a while is a bit of an understatement. I guess it's just difficult to get back into the groove after such an absence. So... I think I'll start off with a story about durian.
Stray Durian George and I were in the produce section at the grocery store when we noticed a bin of durians. He remembered my story about sneaking random bags of kitty litter and giant pink balls into peoples' carts at Alberton's and said "hey, what if we put a DURIAN into someone's cart?" So then he grabs one, and sneaks it into the cart of this totally unassuming middle-aged lady who was preoccupied with her cel phone conversation. Upon realizing she had a stray durian in her cart, she promptly removed it and asked everyone around her if it belonged to them... when she found no takers, she snuck it into an unmanned cart behind her!
So then I said "we should totally put another one in her cart!" I went and grabbed another durian from the bin, and waited until she left the cart to grab some vegetables before dropping it in. We waited at the frozen foods section for her reaction... upon seeing yet another stray durian, bearing a very confused "how the hell did this get here" look on her face, she resolutely picked it up and put it back in its bin. I wanted to go for a third... but she was now quite vigilant, so we thought it best to leave it at 2.
Starshine A few years back my dad told me that I really needed to focus on one thing, as opposed to juggling multiple goals all at once. At the time I though "whatever, I can do lots of different things, I'm good at multi-tasking." But I think when it comes to creative projects, he's totally right. At least for me. And this past few years has really taught me that.
I realize that I haven't gone into detail about my creative projects as of late, but I promise I will in future entries... for now I'll just say that I've been trying to balance essentially 3 big creative projects in my life as of late: 1.) My rpg ("The Blue Star"), 2.) My job (composing music and making SFX for other peoples' video games), and 3.) My own personal music. I suppose I've been fairly prolific at work; I've done quite a few soundtracks for published games. But I tend to feel exhausted after doing something creative. This causes me to put certain things on hold based on deadlines, and in the end, I feel as though my progress is thinner than it should be.
Anyways, I wanted to share something I did recently that was a big milestone for me. Last year my laptop died, and along with it, I lost all the live recordings I did for new arrangements. I still had the project files of most of these new songs, but they were quite hollow without the live recordings. I couldn't bring myself to work on them because they were never quite as they were the first time around. But then I decided to go back and try to revive them. This particular song is going to be used as an ending theme for a really cool space-shooter/rpg called "U.S.G. A New Beginning"... it's called "Starshine."
